CALIFORNIA MEMORIES: PART 2

On Monday we slept in a bit, ate some breakfast in our room, then showered and loaded up the suburban and headed out around 10 am..we were all excited to be in California!!

we originally passed the welcome to California sign, which I told brandon about 10 minutes before to watch for it, but a semi truck was behind us and he couldn’t pull over in time, but my sweet husband turned around and went back to let me get some pics : )

the drive seamed to take FOR-EV-ER!!! for some reason the drive the previous day did not seem nearly as bad, little man fell asleep for a couple hours which was nice but all of us were getting pretty uncomfortable I snapped this pic when we went thru redding.. and this is where we stopped to eat lunch and oh my goodness it was miserably HOT!!

Finally around 5 or so that evening we arrived in Vallejo!!!! the kids could see the six flags park from the highway and were excited to go the next morning!…. first thing of course was pool time again!!!

it was pretty chilly, the temp in vallejo was only about 74 degrees and the pool wasn’t heated so bailey and peyton were the only ones that swam and peyton only did for about 15 min, but bailey stayed in for a good 45 min!

I layed out and soaked up the sun, while ryley gave us a good dancing show (it was pretty funny)

after swimming we cleaned up and drive back to fairfield for dinner, I had planned for us to eat at Chick-fil-A because I had heard SO much good reviews, let me just say it was the BEST chicken sandwich I have EVER had!!! actually I had a chicken salad but the kids got chicken nuggets and sandwiches and I ate some of all theirs too, we all loved it! it was a bit spendy for fast food but then again its really good chicken not processed, nasty cheap chicken so it was worth it! I also had the best peach milkshake I have every had as well! I love the food and their values, also love that they close on sundays!

I so wish we had one here in salem!! and I really wish we would have been able to go to support chick-fil-a night on Aug 1st!

that night the girls watched a little Disney live on the laptop.. we were all super excited for the next day to be at Six Flags!

CALIFORNIA MEMORIES: PART 1

On Sunday July 22nd TheTrueFam loaded up the suburban and headed towards California for a weeks vacation!! we had decided to go pretty much last minute, (about 2 weeks before) and we initially were going to surprise the kids which we ended up telling them a week before we left, they were all pretty excited (not so much for the drive though).. I had ordered tickets to six flags discovery kingdom and we knew we were going to go to our friends to stay for a few days….

Our first day we just drove to Medford to stay the night, which was perfect for the kids we only made 2 stops that day

Brody fell asleep about an hour after we hit the road which we didn’t leave town until close to 11

at the first rest stop we seen a deer out in a field it was so prettym brody kept calling it a “puppy” it wasn’t afraid of people at all and the rest stop was pretty busy!

we ate our packed lunch we packed lots of different food so we wouldn’t have to eat out every meal, I made a couple pasta’s, sandwiches, fruit, veggies, chips, and lots of breakfast and snack stuff!

we finally got to the hotel about 5ish after unloading the car the kids wanted to hit the pool asap!! it was close to 90 degrees in medford so the water felt good, (even though it wasn’t heated)

brody typically don’t like cold water at all and shivers and shakes, but he warmed up to it and played for about 30 minutes or so in the pool

the girls had a blast!!

after we swam and cleaned up we drove over to Abby's pizza, which they had a california bacon pizza on special and it was sooooo good we have all still been talking about that pizza ha!! and of course ryley got his chicken wings!

we had a fun day traveling today…the kids were excited for the next day to be in CALI!!!

BRODY: 20 MONTHS

For Brody’s 20 month post I thought I would just give you “A day in the life of Brody Jay True” so have fun living a regular day with us….

7:15  am- mommaaaa (banging on the bedroom wall)

7:16 am- good morning sweet love and he greets me with a BIG smile!!

7:17 am- cuddles with mommy on the couch for about 15 min watching “Eh-mo” (Elmo)

7:45 am- brody helps himself into the food pantry and gets some fish crackers, after eating a few I make him a nutri grain waffle and cut up some grapes he eats breakfast while watching Yo Gabba Gabba

 

8:10 am- brody entertains himself with some books while I unload dishwasher, then he comes over to “help me” by putting things in the dishwasher

8:30 am- brody takes a bath while I check emails and computer for a bit

8:55 am- brody gets out and pee’s on the floor while I’m trying to get his clothes picked out for the day..ugh.. it never fails he does this several times a week.. stinker!

9:00 am- Brody takes his amoxicillin and we go out front to take some pics and play for a bit (its beautiful out)

9:20 am- we come inside brody plays with his cars while eating some graham crackers the girls are up and entertaining him

10:30 am- brody poops time to change his stinky diaper : /

10:35 am- brody wants to go back outside so the girls take him out on the porch for me so I can get a few things done inside

11:00 am- brody comes in and wants a “dink” I give him some apple juice then he whines to be held (he’s acting tired with him being sick he gets tired easily) I hold him and he lays on the couch to watch tv for a bit

12:00 pm- time for lunch brody eats a cheese quesadilla with some corn and strawberries, he don’t eat the strawberries and only eats a little bit of the other stuff, then throws the food on the floor : /

12:20 pm- brody wants down and entertains himself while I clean things up

1:00 pm- brody finally goes down for a nap

3:45 pm- brody is awake daddy is home to greet him, he wakes up crabby and whiny, wants to be held, watches some tv with daddy for a bit

4:05 pm- ready to go back outside, I told him to get his shoes so he gets them for me, daddy takes him outside for a little bit to play, he loves playing in his car, and with his lawn mower

5:00 pm- time to come inside while mommy makes dinner daddy and the girls entertain brody he loves dancing to bailey’s music!!

6:00 pm- dinner time, tonight were having meatball casserole, salad, fruit… brody only eats his pineapple and a few bites of the casserole, throws the rest in the floor as daddy is telling him NO : /

6:30 pm- mommy runs up to target to pick up a few things but I heard daddy took brody up to the park to play for a little bit : )

7:40 pm- time for jammies and to relax, brody plays with his toys for awhile and has some bites of yogurt for snack

9:10 pm- kisses and hugs ready for bed! Sweet dreams, my little man! I love you and can't wait to do it all over again tomorrow!
