12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

I found this idea to read a special Christian story to the kids each night and wrap a little treat inside (that goes with the story) on our countdown to the final 12 days before Christmas, last night was our first night, the story was wonderful and the girls really listened and payed attention to it! each night they will open their little treat after I read them their special story!!

Our first story was “A Christmas family”

“It is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas when its mighty Founder was a child Himself.” ~Charles Dickens

This morning we got up and around pretty early so we could go visit Santa! Peyton had been so excited to tell Santa what she wants this year and the jury was still out with brody…it was either going to be fabulous or a complete nightmare! when we arrived Santa was out feeding his reindeer still so we had to wait outside for about 10 minutes or so.. finally we got in.

AN EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT!

For the past 4 months we had been planning on getting the kids a puppy for Christmas, we were very excited and nervous at the same time.. we KNOW its a lot of work, but the pay off makes it all worth it… we were going to wait until Christmas morning and have them open a box with a bunch of puppy stuff in it, (bed, toys, treats, shampoo, etc.…) but  when grandma found in the paper last week that a litter of puppies were ready to go home we had to check it out, and of course we fell in love!! they were all so cute and looked exactly alike lol… brandon liked this little boy one that kept chewing on his shoe laces, and he was pretty cute but when I picked up this little girl and she seemed so content in my arms, I fell in love… then I put her down and she went and sat behind brandon’s legs while the others all played, we just knew she was THE ONE! so we paid for her, and told them we would be back soon, but weren’t sure exactly when… well the next day we just had to go get her! : )

peyton likes her but is still a little scared of her, peyton has never been a dog person and up until about 18 months ago was absolutely terrified of them, would cry and shake… but she has gotten a lot better. and hopefully she will learn to love Missy, but in the meantime she wears shoes at all times so missy don’t nip at her feet : )

Brody on the other hand has NO FEAR in him… he likes to bug her and poke her and tries to sit on her, and he slaps her away its kind of funny really but were trying to teach him to be soft with her, but missy likes to play rough and tries to tackle and jump and nip at brody so we have to keep them apart for the most part!

we love her, she’s a sweetie and she fits right in with our family…..
