Monday night after dinner, baths and homework, the kids decided to play poker with dad, they had a lot of fun, and I loved hearing them laughing together!

Monday: Chicken and Wild Rice casserole, salad, rolls
Tuesday: Cilantro Lime Shrimp, baked potato, corn on the cobb, fruit 
Wednesday: Grilled Cheese and the best tomato soup, fruit
Thursday: Oven Baked Frito Pie, steamed broccoli, fruit
Friday: Home Made Calzones, Pepperoncini chopped salad, fruit

BRAVE

Our sweet little peyton had her last swimming lesson class last Wednesday night and the teacher had told them on Monday that they were going to jump off the diving board on Wednesday, so peyton was soooo excited and we talked a lot about it, then when Wednesday night came she got up on the board and sort of panicked, she wanted to jump SO bad you could tell, but just couldn’t make herself do it… finally after 2 videos of me recording her for 3 min each of just standing and getting ready she jumped, but I didn’t get it on camera : (   she did end up jumping off 2 more times the 2nd time still with hesitation, but the 3rd time went quickly! were so proud of her for jumping and doing it!

LUCKY?!… no BLESSED!

We've never really celebrated St Patrick’s day before, we normally just wear green to be festive, but this year thanks to Pinterest I found some cute ideas on fun things for the kids, and I had a great time showing my fam how lucky Blessed I am to have them in my life. As always……. why not celebrate everything?!.

PEYTON’S SWIMMING LESSONS

Peyton is really starting to enjoy her swimming lessons now!, she can now do bob’s underwater, and catch the rings! they let her get in 5 min early (if we can get there early) to let her practice before the other kids start and this has helped, her swim teacher loves her and has helped her so much!

we have decided to sign her up for one more session after this and brody and mama are going to do a parent/tot class while she is swimming also!.. its going to be fun can’t wait!

BRODY: SIXTEEN MONTHS OLD

My sweet little love,

Sixteen months!!!...in two months you'll be one and a half! It's hard to believe! But, you are more fun and more busy than I ever imagined you would be at such a little age.  You are a hoot and have brought laughter to our lives that we didn't even know we were missing! So, in honor of 16 months, here are 16 stories from the past month that I never want to forget...I love you more than you know...

1. You are still super obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba! I think you would watch them all day, everyday if I would let you. A few days ago, I was in the playroom and you were in the living room. I realized how quiet you were and ran in to check on you. When I got there, I saw you sitting in your brown chair, pointing the remote to the T.V. As soon as you saw me, you started saying “babies” over and over. (which is what you call the kids on that show) You were trying so hard to get it on the T.V. yourself...but needed my help!

2. Somehow, a plastic whale bath toy wandered into your living room basket of toys. I watched you pull it out to play with it, and give it kisses.. such a sweet boy!

 

3. You are quite the little dancer. When you hear music in the car or at home, you immediately start dancing. You bounce your little legs and bob your head, while saying "dan dan dan" in a whispery voice. We love it every time!

4. Running! It's how you get from point A to point B! I'm amazed by your energy to RUN everywhere you go! ... Thankfully you're not too clumsy, but you do fall from time to time. I’m really nervous for this summer when you are running outside and might get some owies

5. You are starting to really put things together. When I say “ready for a bath” you go running to the bathroom and say “bath”, or when I say want some num nums, you go running to your high chair, or to the cupboard, and when I say want a drink you go running to the fridge and say “ju” “ju” Smarty pants!

6. You like to head-butt us, and if we say owie, you try to repeat it and rub your head, and you still love to slap your own head, you have done this for months!

 

7. We have started correcting you the past month, when you do naughty things we try to tell you no but we have had to pat your bottom or hand a few times, we hate it because it hurts your little feelings so much, but you for sure like to test our patience at times!

8. You have found your belly button and are so proud of it. You often lift up your shirt and play with it, were trying to get you to say belly button, but you wont repeat it!

9. We have been practicing naming your body parts. You have mouth, hands, toes, ears, eyes, hair and nose down!!! and you can even say some of the words!

10. Playing in your Little Tikes Car is a fun new activity. You still haven't figured out how to really move it, but you love to get in, shut the door, sit in it and get out. We have started playing a game waving and saying bye bye to you when you get in, and you say it back.. so funny watching your imagination start to work!

11. You have started to resist nap time a little bit, even though I know your tired because you will find your “B” (what you call your binky) and your “baby” (blanky) and will lay on the floor, but when I put you in your crib you wont always fall asleep.. stinker still fighting your sleep!

12. You love the snow. we have had several snow days this past month and you love to look out the window and are mesmerized by it, and even more you loved playing in it!!

 

13. Last week while at grandma and grandpa’s I was cleaning you up after eating and you had a mess all over the ground and yourself so I made a silly sigh that sounded like a growl “ughhh” and you tried imitating me and growled back, and now whenever one of the girls gets annoyed and goes ugh.. you always do it too! too funny!!

14. You love it when Daddy comes home from work. When you hear the key in the door, you'll quickly stop what you're doing to run to the door. It makes him feel so good!

15. I love the way your praise yourself. When you do a good job at something, you clap your hands and say “yayyyyy”

16. You're still not a great eater, you like to feed yourself, but will only eat a few bites of things, but you love to snack!

On Saturday afternoon, we walked up to the park after playing for awhile on the playground, brody started walking around the track with daddy and missy, then he discovered his shadow! it was so cute watching him watch himself move and stop, and shake his arms… such a cutie! and i can’t wait for more spring/summer days where we can see more of that sweet little shadow!

DOING OUR HOMEWORK

At Brody’s 14 month appointment, the doctor asked me if Brody was trying to use a spoon on his own.and honestly we hadn’t even tried, I've handed him spoons before just to play with, but not to eat with! Anyway, since his 18 month appointment is coming soon, I hated to have not done my "homework." So, we've been trying some more... even though he's getting better, it still results in a very messy baby and a good bath!!! But he loves trying!!!

I wish I would of gotten a picture when he was done, he had applesauce in his eyes, hair, ears.. EVERYWHERE!!! lol

Last Month Great Grandma Maggie turned 100 years old!, we got to Celebrate her special Birthday last Saturday with her friends and family at her nursing home.

when Ryley was 5 years old and in Kindergarten he drew this picture of what he thinks he will look like at 100..so, do you see the resemblance? does grandma sorta look like this pic at all? : )

it was apparent brody came for the cake, he kept yelling for more and more bites!! : )
