Dearest Brody,
How can you possibly be a half a year old already? We haven’t figured out how to stop time yet…but if we had, I’d freeze you right at this age! Your little personality is starting to shine through!
this month has brought many memories our way. you can finally roll from your back to your tummy, you eat baby food, and LOVE your oatmeal, you are starting to sit up with some assistance, and love to play with your sweet little toes!.. you also discovered your voice and really enjoy yelling at us.. (but its cute right now) you have now started “kissing!” You’ll grab our faces with both of your hands and aggressively lick or suck on our chin, lip, cheek or nose. it's just precious and you always get a reaction from us when you do it which makes you smile so big!! We hope you’ll always be such a lovey little guy!
Even though you enjoy your new exersaucer, your jumparoo, watching bubbles, your play mat, and, of course, Sofie, our things are definitely your favorite “toys!” you just love to get your hands on the remote, keys, our cups, plates, and cell phones. It’s hilarious to watch your eyes as your reach for these things.
You have also started throwing a little fit if you drop your toy or get it too far out of your reach. but this doesn't surprise us we already knew you had a temper! little toot! : ) you have your DEFINITE grumpy times.The evenings are often rough…but you usually calm down with a bath and bedtime! And, when you want to be held, you WANT TO BE HELD. You’ll yell and whine until we know it…and, if we put you down again, you’ll cry the most heartbreaking cry. A little high maintenance, for sure!!! Good thing you’re cute…because, MERCY ME, you’re a stinker! but thankfully, this month, you have learned how to play by yourself a little better. You like your new excersaucer you got, that will usually give me about 15 minutes to get something done, and enjoy watching your baby einstein videos, or praise baby dvd, but your most favorite thing is being outside, you love to watch the kids play out there or being at the girls softball games!
No signs of any teeth yet, but its ok i just adore that sweet gummy smile!, and i know their coming because you drool more than i can even describe.. you go through so many changes of clothes and pajamas a day, we try to keep bibs on you but they get in the way sometimes too!
Bottom line…I love you so much!!! Too much, probably. I love your chubby short little legs , I love the way you scratch my side or chest while you eat. I love how your eyes light up when you see me. I love that you let me kiss you a million times a day. And, I love that you’re all mine! (& Daddy’s and your brother and sister's too, I guess!?) : ) Thank you for blessing me with your sweet life. And for giving me another reason to thank Jesus every day.
So, Happy ½ Birthday, little man! Who would have thought that half of a year could be so full? I love you and anxiously anticipate the joys that the next half will bring!
