We did it!!! Mommy the girls survived the first day of School! It’s really hard to believe I’m at this point…the Momma of a high schooler, a 1st grader and a 5th grader!!
of course we did a little photo shoot before school!
I kept telling the girls how pretty they both looked… bailey was excited and ready to go, peyton was a tad nervous but excited also, I on the other hand was a bit emotional with peyton having to be in school ALL.DAY.LONG but I had to get thru it
when we got to the school bailey went straight to her classroom (and didn’t want me to follow lol) so brody and I went with peyton to her class, and of course took a few more pics.
watching her walk into the classroom and getting settled into her seat the past years flashed before my eyes, one scene in particular was walking ryley up to school on his first day of 3rd grade and pushing peyton in her stroller and thinking this day would never come, that she was just going to be home with me for a long time. How it seems like yesterday!…But she is now a big school girl!
before we left we gave our big school girl some hugs and kisses and waves good bye!
(I also snuck over to bailey’s classroom which class had already started at this point, and snuck a pic of her)
as we left I got a little teary eyed but, not as badly as I thought I would. Driving away is always the hardest part…seeing the school in the rear-view mirror and knowing that your baby is there ALL day. All I could do was pray that God would be with her today and the rest of her days at school. Help her stand against peer pressure. Help her to make good decisions. Surround her with good friends that are positive influences.
Protect her from bullies, and give her the courage to talk to me if she is ever having a problem. Amen.
when brody and I left we made a little stop at Starbucks for a pumpkin scone and a mocha for mommy.. we had a great day just the two of us (but we did miss our ry ry and sisters) I had my moments as the day went on…and surely the time ticked slower than it ever has before! I thought 3:30 would NEVER come
we watched sesame street and Toy Story, played outside, ate lunch, napped
snuggled on the couch, and played with toys! then it was time to pick up ryley at 2:20… I was happy to hear my big guy is adjusting to high school just fine!
But, 3:30 finally came. daddy was home in time to walk up to the school with brody and I…and waiting for the 15 minutes outside felt like Christmas Morning! I couldn’t wait to HUG my girls!
and when the first graders finally came out and I saw Peyton…I could have melted…and cried…and squealed!!! The girl I thought looked so big as we dropped her off seemed so tiny now! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her.
after bailey came out and we gave her lots of hugs too we walked back home and immediately got popsicles and into swimsuits to play in the water because it was HOT!!
So, CHEERS to 1st, 5th and 9th grade! I’m praying for these sweet babies EVERY single day and can’t wait to see the great things they learn this year!
