I’LL BE OK
Last night, I nursed my sweet baby for the very last time. he has not been nursing very well for the past month, and would only do it when he was really tired and if there wasn’t a lot going on in the background because he would get easily distracted, so the milk truck has slowed down because of this and I knew that it was time. even though I wasn’t ready to stop, my baby love was (honestly I’m not exactly sure when I would have been ready to stop) So, as jammies got put on and the dreaded bedtime approached, I took my baby love into my room to just spend this last special one on one time with him. i squeezed my little man extra tight. I didn't watch the TV like normal... I needed to soak in this last special moment that I would have with my baby. It's hard to say goodbye to how relaxed and sweet he gets when he’s nursing. It's hard to watch him scratch my chest like he has for the past 8 months, as he eats for the last time. It's hard to let go of something that you've done numerous times a day for 253 days. It's hard to come to the realization that your baby doesn't "need " you in this way anymore! So, as tears filled my eyes, I looked at my sweet Brody and thanked God for the blessing that it has been to bond with him in such a special way. ... How I have loved it! ... and if you have never nursed your baby, you really are missing out on one of the most precious gifts God has given us as Mothers ... I wasn’t sure how hard I would take this, but I’m doing ok, now I hold him and feed him his bottle and read him his special book On the Night You Were Born and he is doing just fine! and is now sleeping in his crib. Goodnight, my precious 'big boy!'

(this pic was taken the next day at nap) : )

MY BIG SHOPPER
Look at my sweet little man sitting in the REAL shopping cart...such a big boy!!! no more infant carrier for him in the store! we bought this shopping cart cover a couple months ago when brody could first start sitting up, and it is perfect! I love that it fits in any public highchair and shopping cart to protect him from all the yucky germs out there!!
So our next stop was the mall to find sissy some new school shoes which she has been really wanting some TOMS and I heard Nordstroms had them on sale at the anniversary sale, so we headed downtown.
loving the skybridge! : )
then it was time for some green apple frozen yogurt, and boy did he L.O.V.E that!! we got strawberry with chunks of fruit and he yelled in between bites.. so I handed him the bowl and he just grabbed a hanful and stuffed it in his mouth lol

SMOOTHIES
Lately we have been loving smoothies!, my kids aren’t big breakfast eaters (well bailey can be) but for the most part breakfast don’t consist of very much, so I have discovered smoothies are a good, healthy start to a morning, and brody is loving them too, I just add a little baby oatmeal in it too for him (after I make the big kids) We start with a few big spoonfulls of yogurt. (whole milk yogurt) Then, I add in applesauce and fresh fruits of all kinds. Next is some Odwalla juice and sometimes a splash of pineapple juice. I've also heard green spinach leafs are really good to use because they don’t have any flavor, but they do turn the smoothie green.. which I’m not sure if my kids would do lol.

it’s the little things…
like sitting out front in the yard playing with grass that this little guy enjoys!, I love to watch his small little hands work so hard to pull that grass, and of course it goes straight to his mouth, (which then I have to take away..)
RAVIOLI’S
Other than Chicken noodle dinner one time about a week ago, Brody hasn’t had any meat in his diet yet.. but today we tried chicken and carrot ravioli’s (my girls loved these when they were his age) and Brody thought they were pretty yummy as well, but mostly he just loves to feed himself, he would much rather have finger food he can do all by himself rather than pureed baby food from a spoon.
