Sat the 30th we got up early, ate breakfast, took our showers and headed up to the church to the Easter Egg hunt! thankfully it was a beautiful sunny morning, so we didn’t have to stand in the rain!
Brody would not keep his bucket off of his head, and apparently the Keizer Times photographer thought it was pretty cute because he came over and asked if he could take a pic of Brody, he wrote down his name and age and we expected to see it in the paper the next morning but oddly there were NO pics at all of the egg hunt?! (and he took several) so not sure if or when it actually appeared?!
Brody attempted to run out and start the candy hunt before they blew the whistle several times ha!
and then when they did blow it he wasn’t sure what to do.. he picked candy up as slow as a snail.. after he got the first piece he just wanted it open and to eat it.. so daddy helped him, then he started to get into it a bit more!
peyton took off and filled up her bucket pretty fast!
they definitely got plenty of candy!
on our way tot the car brody got to finally have his piece of candy.. a sucker : )
we dumped their candy in this top drawer when we got home.. pretty sure that’s a whole lot of cavities! they had double this amount after the next day getting their Easter goodies from the Easter Bunny and grandparents!!
after the egg hunt we came home and the kids played outside while ryley went up to golf with friends.. it was such a gorgeous day to be outside!
they even got to eat out back!
after they ate we attempted to lay Brody down for a nap but he only rested for about 45 min, so we decided to start coloring the eggs
we only let Brody do a couple (and he beat the heck out of those 2 poor eggs, dropping and squeezing them…they weren’t so pretty after he was done with them ha!) but the girls had fun coloring and making theirs just right!
then I let them decorate the cupcakes..
all he wanted to do was eat them!!!
he was getting pretty tired after all of that and it was getting closer to evening so we relaxed out on the front porch swing and watched sissy plant the magic jelly beans!
Peyton had a loose tooth that was just hanging in her mouth the past couple days so daddy finally pulled it!
so not only was the Easter Bunny coming that night but the Tooth Fairy also!!
I love the day before Easter traditions! and with the weather being so nice it was absolutely perfect!
Wow! I think your easter stash was bigger than our halloween stash! Also, I'm totally terrified of my kids losing teeth. I hope my husband has a stronger stomach for it than I do!
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting from the blog party, btw! Nice to meet you, Melanie!
