It may be a slow process....but....
...after making a very difficult decision of picking out a goal toy, stickers, and lots of talking about the potty and wear-wear… we have introduced Brody to the potty! he don’t mind sitting on the potty but has yet to go?!…its for sure a slow process, and I’m not pushing him faster than he’s ready, but we are taking small steps to being a diaper free home… forever!!!
as you can see, somedays are better than others… but we shall get there someday…..
There’s something about being a kid…can I get an amen!?
And, watching my kids daily reminds me to appreciate the little things.
Like…the fact that underwear on your head is ALWAYS funny…
…and, that the VERY best place to rest and sleep in the house is Mommy & Daddy’s bed!
The fact that getting a donut is ALWAYS an extra special treat…
…and that riding a carousel is always magical!
The simpleness of playing in water…
…and helping wash the car!
The EXCITEMENT that the ice-cream truck brings..
and how fun it is to see yourself in the screen while taking a picture
and the wonderment of catching butterfly’s…
So, here’s to appreciating the simple things…and pray that we never have to grow up!!!
On July 9th my precious first born turned 15!! I hate typing it and even more saying it! I wish I could just stop him from getting any older! but the clock will never stop and its inevitable he will get older. Ryley, I look at you and feel the lump in my throat, the tightening in my chest, and the overwhelming feeling of wanting to hold on tighter to you. I am face to face with the reality that I am raising you, training you, and loving you to leave me. I want nothing more than for you to be a remarkable man, but I want nothing more than for you to stay young and with me. I have come to accept that you are no longer my little boy you are a young man! I pray these next few years go by really slowly!
You are my heart, my life, my greatest accomplishment.
