Saturday the 5th, we woke up early got everyone showered and ready and went down to the lobby of the hotel to eat, they had free breakfast with sausage, eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereal, fruit, bagels, muffins all kinds of stuff… but ryley and I had our hearts set on chick fil a so we ate a tiny bit but held out for chicken sandwiches after we left the hotel…
yummy!!!
it was beautiful in elk grove and most of the drive that day…. high was only about 68 degrees but sunny and so pretty!!!
there really wasn't much to look at on the ride most of the time but at least the sky was pretty.
this guy had a quick little melt down, over which movie to watch.. but was crabby so nothing was pleasing him! thankfully it only lasted about 10 minutes
we ended up making probably 4-5 stops this day for potty breaks.. the was starting to seem to drag on, but our spirits were high and we were anxious to get to our destination!
our last stop before getting to Anaheim! (which we were about 2 hours out still)
it was weird when we got to the grapevine… it didn’t look so good here, cooler, lots of clouds and looked like it was going to rain any minute!
but as we got closer to LA it was nice again!
and then the excitement really got loud!! we were finally there!!! we could see our hotel!!!
this was our home for the next 3 nights!!!
the room was very cute with a fun beachy look brody loved the beach ball pillows on the beds!
I upgraded our room to the concierge package which gave us a theme park view of California Adventure, it was an amazing view!! from the 12th floor!!!
the concierge also gave us free food and snacks throughout the day! under those cabinets were the drinks they had all kinds of soda, juice, and bottled waters and in the evenings they have unlimited beer and wine, yummy appetizers, fruit, cheese and meat trays, chips, crackers, chocolate dipped strawberries, veggies with dip, chips with home made salsa, sandwiches and for breakfast they had all kinds of breakfast stuff!.. everything was really good! having the free food and drinks available was awesome for a family of 6, we didn’t have to spend as much in the parks on food the first 3 days which was great! and the best part about it was you could take as much of it as you wanted to go (they encourage it) so we would load up our bag with bottled waters, juices, and soda’s and take to our room and put in the fridge, and pack some in our bag along with snacks for the parks!
the beachcombers lobby (the concierge room) was a neat room that only our keys would get us into,it had a big tv in it with a Disney movie playing at all times for kids, there was always a couple workers in there to help if anything needed replaced, we also got to check out Disney movies to take to our room to watch (which we only did that 1 night)
the main lobby is big and fun with restaurants and shops and a fun surfer goofy!
there’s also an arcade down there too!
after we ate some dinner around 6 we walked to Downtown Disney and let the kids check out the Lego store and some of the fun stuff going on!
we've ate at 3 different rainforest cafĂ©’s but this one is my favorite I love how big it is!! and all the fire outside
then we walked over to ESPN Zone to let the kids play some games for awhile!
brody picked this little bowling game to play, he was SO proud every time he knocked down a pin it was hilarious!!
ry did awesome at this football game! another guy and his son stopped to watch : )
peyton and daddy vs ryley and bailey !
after the kids played for awhile we decided to head back to the hotel, so we could swim and soak in the hot tub for awhile before the fireworks at 9:30
we stopped at the pool deck to check it out before heading to out room to change!
surprisingly for a Sat night the pool was pretty empty… yes!!!
when we got back to our room the maid had left the kids 4 Rice Krispy treats dipped in chocolate (ry had already snagged his up) part of the concierge package was nightly turn down service so they left goodies each night when we would get back to the hotel!
the night view was SO neat!!! and SO much more pretty in person! you just had to be there!
the hot tub felt good, they don’t keep it too hot so kids can get in it, it was perfect! the kids had fun swimming, little man was pretty tired and just let me hold him while in the hot tun!
back to the room to change and get ready for the fireworks ( our room had 2 queen beds, a fold out couch, and a playpen for brody it was perfect for us!
at the Paradise Pier the swimming pool is on the roof of one of the 2 buildings and also on that building is a watching deck to watch the fireworks, it was so cool to be to watch them in our jammies, without a huge crowd!
not long after the fireworks started brody started to cry (its on the video below) he didn’t like them, every night if he wasn't already asleep in his stroller, he would cover his ears with his blanket to drowned out the sound.
and I just may have teared up a bit listening to julie andrews narrate and watching the pretty fireworks! I felt in that moment with my babies and brandon I was truly in the happiest place on earth!
And By 11, we were all nestled snug in our beds…dreaming of what the next day would hold! We knew it was going to be magical.
